I’m so glad you stopped by.
My theoretical orientation is best described as humanistic and eclectic, and in that spirit, I treat each client with the utmost care and concern working from the bio-psycho-social-spiritual model, acknowledging the phenomenological experience of each person in their unique way of being in the world. It is my role to collaborate with each client and provide unconditional positive regard, empathy, transparency and congruence in my thoughts and actions, as well as fostering an environment in which you, the client, feel empowered.
You deserve to reconnect with your dreams, find your spirit and motivation to be the best version of yourself you can be while experiencing loving, caring relationships with others. I believe that most people are inherently good and recognize that pain and suffering in our lives, as part of the human condition, can set us back, but also has the potential to build resilience and we all have within us the power to overcome obstacles and reframe how we see our world based on what we value and what we desire. Identifying and reconnecting with your values are some of the first steps to healing. Y
Regardless of interventions, I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important thing. This relationship must make you feel valued, safe and assured of confidentiality. I am here to facilitate change — change; that for you, is helpful change, positive change, and that which reduces the level of distress you experience in your daily life.
I integrate concepts from humanistic psychology, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, and solution-focused therapy. I am ethically grounded and will work as a professional serving the therapeutic relationship and will always honor your self-determination.
I am a native of North Carolina. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Visual Arts from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC, with honors and my Master of Social Work at NC State University in Raleigh, NC where I graduated summa cum laude. I am a lifelong artist and hopeless Francophile. In my personal time, I enjoy travel, time with family and friends, exploring the arts, making art, reading and eating good food and practicing Spanish. And music! I couldn’t live a day without music.
Thanks for the privilege of being a part of your unique journey.
